Dr. Jeffrey M. Friedman will be awarded a Certificate of Honor, US$150,000 and a Japanese objet d’art at the award ceremony on March 2nd, 2017.

The Selection Committee highly recognized his groundbreaking discovery of leptin and new endocrine system comprised of leptin, which is the key to understand obesity and insulin resistance, the most common antecedents of diabetes.

Dr. Jeffery M. Friedman was therefore selected a Prize winner of this year.
