2014 Award

Mr. Takashi Shoda, president of the Manpei Suzuki Diabetes Foundation gave the opening address and presented the 2014 Manpei Suzuki International Prize for Diabetes Research to Dr. Daniel J. Drucker, Professor of Medicine, University of Toronto, and Senior Scientist, Lunenfeld -Tanenbaum Research Institute, Mt. Sinai Hospital, on February 10, 2015 at a ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Drucker received a Certificate of Honor, US$150,000, and a Japanese objet d’art.

Dr. Masato Kasuga, the chair of the Selection Committee presented the reasons for bestowing the 2014 Prize to Dr. Daniel J. Drucker

Dr. Drucker’s award lecture was entitled “Pleiotropic metabolic actions of enteroendocrine peptide”
