2015 Award

Mr. Takashi Shoda, president of the Manpei Suzuki Diabetes Foundation gave the opening address and presented the 2015 Manpei Suzuki International Prize for Diabetes Research to Dr. Takashi Kadowaki, Professor and Chairman, Department of Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases, Graduate School of Medicine, the University of Tokyo, on March 3, 2016 at a ceremony held in Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Kadowaki received a Certificate of Honor, US$150,000, and a Japanese objet d’art.

Dr. Masato Kasuga, the chair of the Selection Committee presented the reason for bestowing the 2015 Prize to Dr. Takashi Kadowaki
